De-ICE Citizens Bank

Saturday June 6
11 AM - 12 noon

Indivisible Newark DE joined a national day of action in protest of Citizens Bank's ongoing funding of ICE detention centers. Citizens Bank is bankrolling the country's two largest prison companies that are earning record profits operating dozens of ICE detention facilities. Protect Voter Rights

Rapid Response

May 8, 2026
5:30 - 6:30 PM

Indivisible Newark DE held a Rapid Response Protest to voice our outrage at the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that dismantled key features of the Voter Rights Act, including gutting protections against racially-based gerrymandering.

For over 60 years, the Voting Rights Act – often called the crown jewel of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement - has protected minorities from being locked out of equitable representation in elected offices. Now, with this blatantly political decision by the Roberts’ Court, millions of people will have the power of their vote diminished and ignored.

Newark residents stood up against this latest move by those aligned with the Trump regime to tilt the scales of electoral politics and steal power, affirmed by a thoroughly compromised Supreme Court.

Stand with us to protect Voter Rights!

This event included "Why we March" and "ICE Stories" interactive displays-more info in photos and links below.

SUNDAY March 8

OLD COLLEGE
Main Street and S. College Ave.

Join Indivisible Newark DE for Rapid Response Protest to voice our outrage at the lawless actions of the Trump regime.

For over a year, we have seen Trump and his underlings ignore the Constitution, bypass court orders, and trample over the rights of individuals. Now, in perhaps the most dangerous action yet, they have launched a rapidly escalating war with Iran, violating both the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution.

We call on the Congress to do its job and reassert its rightful authority over the unchecked actions of this regime.  Join us on Sunday to show your opposition to the expanding tyranny.

RECENT PROTEST: CITIZENS BANK
STOP FUNDING ICE DETENTION

Saturday Feb 14
Sidewalk by 4345 Kirkwood Highway
(Citizens Bank)

Indivisible Newark DE and Indivisible Highlands and Beyond co-organized a  protest against Citizens Bank.

When banks fund ICE detention, they are not neutral — they are complicit. Citizens Bank is a major lender to companies that build and operate ICE detention centers, profiting from a system that cages and abuses immigrants. We came together to demand accountability and to make it clear: our communities will not accept banks fueling ICE abuse.

RECENT PROTEST:
REMEMBER AND RESIST

Protest and Vigil in Memory of Alex Pretti, who was murdered by ICE in Minneapolis, and all the victims of ICE Violence.

Indivisible Newark DE joined with communities across the country to voice our grief and outrage at the murder of Alex Pretti, a hero who was executed by masked ICE thugs last week as he came to the aid of a fellow ICE observer in Minneapolis.

Around 700 people gathered in below-twenty degree temperatures to raise their signs and voices in solidarity with Minnesotans, and to express grief for all victims of ICE violence. The names of 39 victims were read, and a moment of silence was observed for each during the candlelight vigil.

Alex is the second person to be killed in less than a month by the occupation forces in the Twin Cities.  In both cases, the Trump regime has responded by blocking investigations, libeling the victims, and claiming it can murder with impunity.  We cannot allow lawless secret police to continue terrorizing Americans.

The Twin Cities of Minnesota, under violent occupation by agents of the Trump regime, daily resist beatings, abductions, and illegal incarceration.

Temperatures in Minneapolis reached -9 degrees according to the National Weather Service.

As ICE operations expand across the country, no one in America is safe from this repression.  Indivisible Newark DE organized a Rapid Response Protest in solidarity with Minnesota and with all the communities that are under siege.
