Our 3 Pronged Response to
ICE Killing 2 People in July 2026
1. Public Statement and Call to Action: We issued a public statement condemning these horrific killings and the abuse of power. Read our full statement here. This statement includes a call to action, detailed below.
2. Popup Visibility Brigade: We are having a visibility brigade on Thurs July 16th at 5pm with the messages "ICE Kills" and "Stop ICE Murders" on a busy pedestrian overpass. We use small teams for our brigades, and spots for this brigade are already full.
3. Vigil after the Saturday protest: We are having a vigil at 6pm on Saturday at S College and W Main to honor the lives of the 2 people who were killed. The vigil will occur immediately after the Good Trouble Lives On protest. Check out the protest section above for more details. ***This is being rescheduled to next week due to the weather. Stay tuned.***

Suggested script for your call: "I am appalled by the shooting deaths this past week of Lorenzo Araujo in Texas, and Joan Guerrero, in Maine, at the hands of federal immigration agents. I urge you to demand full independent investigations into their deaths. I urge you to demand the full cooperation of federal officials with local law enforcement investigations, including the sharing of all appropriate evidence. There are reports of witnesses to Mr. Araujo’s killing being detained and urged to self-deport. It is essential all available witnesses be allowed to give evidence. The ability to hold federal agents accountable for their actions has been sorely abused by the Trump administration, allowing violence and intimidation to go unchecked in our communities."
