Victor Acurio Suarez was born with significant developmental disabilities. In his home country of Ecuador he was beaten by a violent gang, left for dead, and his house was set on fire. Here in Delaware his brother is able to help care for him. On September 22, 2025, he stopped an ICE agent, thinking the agent could help him find work. He has remained in a detention center ever since, despite calls from Rep. McBride and Governor Meyer for his immediate release.
